Just finished a fabulous week of diving. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and variety of dives to ensure that we saw dive sites we hadn’t seen before. Thanks to Jamali, Justin, Dave and Phil. We loved every minute of it.

We are a family of five and haven’t been diving in three years. Phillip was an amazing dive master, extremely patient, and awesome with my kids and their nervous mother (me). He really took his time with us to make us all comfortable and guide us through some truly breathtaking dive spots. I can’t say enough about him and our boat captain. Phenomenal day!!!

While Barbados overall is an island of wonderful people who go out of their way to make sure you have a good time on your vacation, Phillip and the crew of Reefers & Wreckers are absolutely amazing! My pre-teen children had never dove before. There was no way, without Phillips easy going and calming demeanor or great teaching skills that we would have had such a blast. My son and my daughter both began decompenstating right as we were about to implement the dive skills to go under. I thought I was going to have to call it. Phillip gently and confidently led my kids to not only get over their immediate fear, but dominate the entire 45 minute dive (way more time other crews would have given us by the way). It was a great dive. We swam alongside wrecks awash with fish, turtles, rays, coral and crawling things of all kinds! Phillip's knowledge of diving and marine life captivated my children's imagination and has stimulated many stories and laughter from our kids days after our dive. Their excitement was worth every penny and then some. And by the way, Phillip's prices are very competitive. The value of Phillips knowledge, confidence, easy going charm and warmth are immeasurable. I hear good things from all the Dive Shops on Barbados, but Phillip really goes out of his way to understand his clients before the dive and make sure they feel safe and ready to explore. We can't wait to get back to Barbados and dive with Phillip again.

The absolute highlight of my trip to Barbados was diving with Phil & his crew. Over my two weeks there we dived a lovely variety of reefs and wrecks. If you're into your marine life there are an assortment of different trigger fish, parrot fish, trumpetfish and trunkfish and some good sized puffas, baracuda and spotted eagle rays. I was encouraged by the number of hawksbill turtles we saw which was a joy and reflects the care the country have for their turtles more generally. As an experienced scuba diver with a background in marine conservation I was particularly impressed by the respect Phil has for the Ocean. Phil & his team's relaxed and professional approach to diving is infectious and provides the perfect backdrop for diving at any level of experience. When my sister joined me on the island she did her Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) with Phil and I can't think of a better intro! Shoutout boat captain Jamali for the tunes. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone.

I have been diving for 20 years, have in excess of 300 dives under my belt and am a competent diver. however this was my first trip ever without my one and only dive buddy (and husband). The call to the deep was great, but I was incredibly nervous and very, very emotional. I could not have been in better hands. I explained my predicament to Phil, he appreciated my honesty and my first dive was a shore dive off Carlisle Bay which was absolutely perfect. Confidence gained, I returned and enjoyed my diving more than I thought possible. Thank you Phil, you are an amazing person to dive with and a great ambassador for Barbados. You made my holiday so very special.

I did nine dives over five mornings with Phil and his crew in July 2021. I highly recommend Reefers & Wreckers. Phil is such a master at what he does and is always looking out for you. We did some lovely varied dives seeing lots of amazing marine life and wrecks. There was a lovely mix of divers - local and visitors, and different levels of experience. I just started diving two years ago so am still quite inexperienced and nervous but felt extremely well looked after. I will definitely be using Phil and his team when I come back to Barbados.

We had a great week diving with Phil and the team.
Probably my shortest ever dive was the best under the cement works, topped off by a mantaray gliding past right in front of us..spectacular.
Phil is a super guy who cannot do too much for you.
Highly recommended.

I worked with Phil at Reefers & Wreckers to complete my Open Water Diver PADI certification. And it was the best!

Phil is an experienced and patient instructor who made sure that I was confident and capable with all of the skills necessary. And the spots he took us for our open water dives were out-of-this-world beautiful. I cannot recommend Reefers & Wreckers enough for anyone on looking to dive or learn how to dive on the west coast of Barbados. And a shout out to boat captain Jamali for the smooth sailing on some swelling seas!

Can't wait to come back and dive some more with these guys.

My wife and I have just spent a week diving with Phil at Reefers and Wreckers. We had an amazing time with them and had some great dives. The staff here are very relaxed and friendly but still maintain professionalism. This is certainly a hidden gem of the dive community and is very welcoming. During the surface intervals you feel well looked after with snacks and refreshments. We dived with many returning customers to this dive centre which goes to show they give an excellent service. I have dived all over the world and I can say that this dive centre is probably the most memorable out of the many I've visited. I strongly recommend this dive centre to anyone, thanks for a great week and I look forward to returning one day.

I did 6 dives with R&W and agree that Phil, the owner, is a hard worker, runs a clean shop and listens to his customers. By accounts, he is a great instructor but I am a certified recreational dive master with 150+ dives and did not experience his instruction first hand. As Phil is juggling many things, it can be a bit of "island time" diving but all divers were flexible. My first 2 days of diving were good. We saw some cool stuff. I am writing this review, however, about my last day of diving as it is important for other divers to be aware of what happened. Phil could not join the boat dives as he was instructing off the beach. He set it up for Jamal to guide the dives. Archie was the boat driver, as was typical of the prior days. There were 3 tourist divers, a man, Eric, his teenage son from Norway and me. There was one local diver on board who is friends with the staff. The young boy was nervous when he got in the water so Jamal rightly paid close attention to him. During the dive the 3 tourist divers stayed with Jamal and the local diver went off to spear fish the barracuda. That unto itself was disturbing because we were all there to see the fish and when we went down initially there were several barracuda but the Norwegian man was having ear equalization problems and didn't see them on descent. By the time he and his son were ascending to the boat with Jamal, all the barracuda were dead on the local diver's stringer and they never got a chance to see them on the reef. The local diver took approximately 10 barracuda before the 2 dives were over. Too many in my opinion. But the review is really about the diving. The boy needed to ascend after 25 minutes on the 1st dive as he was low on air. Jamal signaled that he was taking the boy and the father to the boat. As I was on the reef alone (the local diver went off on his own), I signaled that Jamal needed to take them to the boat but come back down. As we were drift diving, I requested he leave the floater with me so there was no question how to find me as it was very choppy on the surface and bubbles may not have been apparent. Jamal got them on the boat and came back for me and we finished the dive. However, on the 2nd dive, we were on a mooring ball this time on a wreck in about 55 feet of water. It was fairly near a harbor entrance that can be very busy with boats. After 35 minutes Jamal gave me on ok sign and started to descend with Eric and his son. I stayed near the wreck and waited for him to come back down. He never did. At that time, I did not know that he got on the boat with the father and son and left me by the wreck on my own. He had no idea how much air I had left as he did not inquire or provide any instructions. He did not expect me to ascend with them so it was very surprising that he left me alone in 50 feet of water. When a few minutes went by and he did not return, I ascended to the top of the wreck in about 30 feet of water still expecting him, thinking maybe there was some delay. When I realized that he was not coming back and it was 45 minutes into the dive time, I ascended to do my safety stop. At this point, I hear the boat engine start up and watch the boat leave! Wow! I went back down a few feet as I was a bit concerned about potential boat traffic and hadn't fully completed my safety stop. I assumed they were coming back for me but started making contingency plans in my head in the event they didn't. Several minutes later, the boat comes roaring back and picks up the mooring ball. After it settles in the water, i ascend and learned that during the first part of the dive, Archie took his friend back to the reef and dropped him off to dive. The friend had a partial tank & was back on the surface before me. So they left me alone to pick him up. It is very bad judgment to leave a tourist diver alone in 50 feet of water. It goes against all I learned with PADI. I do not ever dive alone as a hose could go or a health issue could happen and I did not appreciate what took place this day. I spoke with Phil and he assured me he would address it with them but be aware.
