Such an amazing experience for the cycling enthusiasts of the world. I will never complain about another crappy road here in the states. These cobbles make you appreciate all roads.

Heel toffe en mooie route met koersfiets over heuvels en kleine wegen in de Vlaamse Ardennen. Wondermooie plekjes ontdekken, afzien op de klimmetjes elk op zijn/haar ritme en genieten

Riding over cobblestones is hard. But it gets even harder when you find them in a steep climb.
If you want to have that experience, ride the Blue Loop of "Ronde van Vlaanderen" and you won't forget!
Take for example the "Koppenberg". This climb starts rather easy, but once you approche the trees ... the road rises upt to 23%!
This route is complete signposted.

Eit minne for livet. Ha ein sykkel med eksta vide dekk og lette gir. Det er viktig å få tak i kartet. Dei har det på Museet inne i Oudenaarde. Og ein må følge med på skilta, for det er fort å ta feil. Me fant god resturant på Plazaen i Ronde.

Van de omgeving, de machtige klimmetjes, de kasseien en het afzien.
Dit zijn de klimmen die het verschil maken in de koers.
Let op: de lussen zijn opnieuw uitgezet en voorzien van een andere kleur en volgen een iets andere route.
Een nieuwe kaart (4 Euro) is te koop in het centrum van de Ronde van Vlaanderen.
Drink na afloop een Flandrien biertje in het café van voornoemd centrum.

A must visit for all keen cyclist. During 2014 they have a dedicated Fabian Cancellara section that alone is worth a visit. you can easy spend two hours in the museum followed by an hour in the cycling dedicated cafe next door.

Flanders. If there is a cycling heaven, then surely this is it. Staying in Oudenaarde at the lovely Huize Norman I feel as if I am at the epicentre of cycling itself. The beautiful Flemish Ardennes countryside greats you with its flowing fields, forested hills and... cobbled roads
In France you always received a warm welcome and plenty of space on the road, here they want to introduce you to their families and buy you a drink as well. The Flemish have cycling in their blood and with national heroes such as ‘the cannibal’ Eddy Merckx you begin to understand the obsession. In saying that this is cycling heaven, perhaps there is still some punishment to be dealt to all comers. Call it purgatory if you will but the beloved cobbles of the Ronde van Vlaanderen could only be described (lovingly) as hell on earth. So heaven and hell in one place, with over 140 local beers...did I say I am considering changing nationality?
