A new, clean hotel with staff who still have a lot to learn about hospitality. Room clean, bed exceptional, quality of sleep very good. Instead, modest service at best. They charge you 5 euros to bring a 3.5 euro coffee to your room. They have instant coffee in the room, something that should be banned in a Marriott hotel, and the tea, effectively the worst and cheapest in the country. I find it unacceptable to scrimp on a poor cup of tea, effectively undrinkable, when they have a quality tea for breakfast. And which, if you want to pay for it separately from breakfast, costs twice as much as a coffee, which I think is an aberration. Small details matter enormously. They ruin their brand on simple, cheap things. And I asked the reception to give me a packet of quality tea, and they told me to buy from the bar, which was closed anyway. That's pathetic! Also, if you want to make a reservation through reception, they told you a price, and they invoice you a different one. So, do not trust them on the phone.

I was greeted with coldness at the reception, but the surprise in the room was even moor colder. After several insistences, they changed the heat level a little. Breakfast had to be ordered the day before. A big shame for such a large investment, very good position, but I think the management is inexperienced. I don't understand how Courtyard accepts this situation . As an Elite Ambassador in Bonvoy, I don't recommend this hotel

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel.the hotel only opened in february this year,the decor is modern & fresh & the rooms are roomy & well decorated.the bed & bedding are super comfortable & the rainfall shower is excellent. We ate upon arrive at the hotel bar & the food was very good,with the bar staff & servers very friendly. The hotel is in a great location,just minutes away from the old town square & transfer time from the airport is only 10-15minutes.
All in all we had a fantastic stay in the courtyard & would definately recommend Cluj as a city to visit,the restaurants & bars are great & the people are very friendly.its a bonus that it is also very cheap compared to other european cities.

I've stayed well over 1,000 nights in Marriott hotels over the last 20 years & my stay at the Cluj Courtyard was by far the worst experience I have had!
We arrived in the hotel pretty late at around 7pm, had a shower & went straight out for dinner, I set the air con to 18deg's before we left as the room was very hot when we arrived. To note there were no instructions on the air con, it was a case of 'trial & error' with the control panel
We arrived back at the room at around 10.30pm & the room temperature was showing 25.5deg's 🥵 so I rang to reception to ask what was wrong. I was told that a few adjustments had been made and the room temperature should start to drop so we went to bed. After a couple of hours at around midnight we had to get out of bed as the temperature was just too hot to sleep, it was still showing 25deg's! I was told that the air conditioning must be faulty and there was little that could be done. No fans were available. We did eventually get offered a room across the corridor which he told me would be cooler temperature so I said we would take it just to sleep in. When entering the room across the corridor it was 24deg's but had again been set to 18deg's but we were assured the temperature would drop quickly. We had a cold shower & got into bed although the new room was still very hot. We had a miserable nights sleep with the room being still 23deg's when we left in the morning (it had ran all night set at 18deg's) We had to go back to our original room to pack which was still at 25deg's. The outside temperature that night was 19deg's so both rooms, with the air con on full, were still considerably warmer than the outside temperature!
We only really used the hotel to shower & sleep but our experience was terrible & the actual hotel I believe is as good as brand new having only opened a few months ago. The most disappointing thing however is that I have had no communication from the hotel at all since we left. Yes sometimes things go wrong, very, very occasionally things go wrong twice but when as a hotel you know your customers have had an absolutely miserable nights sleep with a combination of multiple phone calls, moving rooms in the middle of the night & little if any actual sleep and you don't even have the decency to apologise makes a terrible stay absolutely shocking! As above, I have spent over 1,000 nights of my life in Marriot hotels and this stay was by far the worst from the one thing that as a hotel you have to get right ie affording your clients a great nights sleep!

Being a fresh new hotel on the market, we daily encounter things that we need to improve, and these are not always going as we plan, but we are dedicated to continuously improve our services and to satisfy our customer’s needs. You checked out very early in the morning and unfortunately none one from the management personnel was available at that hour to discuss and understand your problem. As per the Marriott standards we have the instructions for the AC on the TV at the column Hotel Services. We strive to provide the best possible experience for all our clients, and we regret that we fell short in your case. Wunderschönes, neues Hotel in Cluj. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr professionell und halten die hohe Qualität von Marriott Courtyard ein. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer funktioniert hervorragend. Das Frühstück ist Mega! Große Auswahl, alles frisch und tolle Auswahl. Die Bar im Hotel ist wunderschön, das Restaurant haben wir nicht getestet. Der Mitarbeiter im Empfang sind hilfsbereit, sehr professionell und immer freundlich. In wenigen Minuten kann man zu Fuß in die Innenstadt laufen und tolle Restaurants, und das Nachtleben entdecken.
