To the Diner - thank you for the reply. We were there on the morning of July 15. Understandable about the state law - but it would have come across so much differently for the waitress to give me a nice smile and tell me "I'm so sorry that you can't bring your coffee in here, but it's a state law that we can't allow it. Let me get you a nice fresh cup". Instead, it was a nonreceptive "you can't bring your coffee in here". A nonissue became a negative.
Then I was a bit incredulous about the egg order and her telling me I couldn't order them "just a little runny, between OM and OW", that it had to be one or the other. So I ordered them OW, asking if she'd ask the chef to make them a bit runny if he could, but no luck. They were fine and I ate them - just cooked more than my preference. But again, it was more the attitude than the result.
I'm not a terrible picky diner (see other reviews), but we didn't have a great experience there. I'll chalk it up to the waitress simply having a bad day. Thanks for your reply.

You are absolutely correct on the egg situation, and we will be checking that out. In our book, service is as important as anything else we do. It's not just what you say, but how you say it.
